English Riding Lessons<\/span><\/h1>\n

We have lessons for all standards of rider from beginners to basic showjumping and dressage, with or without your own horse. We welcome many ‘older’ beginner riders and ‘returnees’ who may have ridden as children and wish to start riding again later in life.\u00a0 Burley Villa holds British Horse Society<\/a> training courses and exams taught by Tammy Greaves BHSAI<\/p>\n

English Riding Lessons are available Wednesday through to Sunday with late lessons\u00a0 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.\u00a0 We have two arenas for instruction, a large bright Indoor Arena 60 metres by 20 metres, and an All Weather Outdoor Floodlit Arena which is 48 metres by 25 metres.<\/p>\n

Adult Lessons<\/strong><\/p>\n

Private ‘one to one’ lessons<\/strong> …For riders who feel that they will benefit from individual instruction or want a lunge lesson a 30 minute or 45 minute private arena lesson is a great way to progress your riding.\u00a0 These are available Wednesdays , Thursdays and Fridays during the day . Should you want an evening time slot then you will probably need to join a waiting list currently. We do not offer weekend private lessons.\u00a0 The cost for a 30 minute lesson is from \u00a344 and a 45 minute lesson from \u00a355. A Class Pass can be purchased for 6 lessons offering you a 10% discount.<\/p>\n

Shared lessons…\u00a0<\/strong>up to three riders with one Instructor. This is a great way to enjoy a lesson with your friends or family in the arena. These are available from Wednesday to Sunday and cost from \u00a340 per person for 30 minutes and from\u00a0 \u00a350 per person for 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Adult Level 1-5 Group Lessons…<\/strong>\u00a0 For riders over 12 years and adults who can work independently at rising and sitting trot on a horse in balance, complete school movements and will be working towards cantering .These lessons are generally on Saturday afternoons. The cost is \u00a344 for this 45 minute session.<\/p>\n

Group Lessons<\/strong> ..We\u00a0 have several regular adult group lessons including Ladies Groups, Jumping Groups , Polework groups and Flatwork Groups.\u00a0 The cost for the one hour group is from \u00a345 per rider or you can buy a Class Pass of 6 lessons with a 10%. We would always assess clients on a private lesson before riding in a group to ensure they will be competent and safe at the level of the group.<\/p>\n

British Horse Society Training Courses…<\/strong> We hold Stage 1 and Stage 2 courses along with Ride Safe Training for riders looking to further their knowledge or help with their career path in horses.<\/p>\n

Camps & Clinics…<\/strong>we regularly hold special events for our adult clients. Please check our Facebook page or Events page for updates.<\/p>\n

Dressage Competitions…<\/strong>we run a Winter Series of Dressage Competitions and our clients get the chance to compete on one of our school horses.<\/p>\n

Guidelines<\/strong> – Our maximum weight is 14st\/90kg for all riding activities. Beginners are welcome. Riding is not suitable during pregnancy and may not be suitable for some other medical conditions and disabilites.
